Training

Message from the Training Officer

As per our constitution, one of our prime objectives is to promote and foster pistol shooting as a sport and recreation. Towards this goal we have indeed been successful; currently A.P.C. has the largest membership of any pistol club in New Zealand. Our club has, and continues to produce, many of the country’s top competitive shooters. However, simply being the biggest and the best is in itself, not enough. Safety while handling firearms must become second nature to us all, AT ALL TIMES.

When you join the Auckland Pistol Club, your first six months are spent as a probationary member. During this time it is mandatory for you to attend and pass a series of safe gun-handling courses before applying for your ‘B’ Endorsement (An endorsement on your firearms license which allows you to own a pistol)

A.P.C has a structured training program designed to advance a club member from the status of "raw recruit", on to the point where they can shoot competitively with skill and above all, absolutely safely.

Your personal training program starts the very first day you become an A.P.C probationary member. A.P.C has Section Directors, a New Members Director a Training Officer and a team of Trainers who are able and willing to conduct various training courses.

Welcome to the Auckland Pistol Club and I wish you well on your journey of discovery into the fascinating world of competitive pistol shooting.
